Bandit The Pitbull Puppy’s First Workout

This video features Bandit, a Pitbull puppy hitting the gym for the first time. He is still struggling to keep up with his peers but that didn’t stop him from tying to run on a treadmill alongside an adult dog. His determination is so adorable!

Bandit was rescued from a kill shelter in Las Vegas by the Peace, Love and Pitbulls Organization headed by Anthony Sanchez who goes by the name of DJ Tino. When asked what the organization is all about, Tino stated in an interview, “It’s all about saving Pit Bulls. PLP is here to repair the reputation of this misunderstood dog and get them out of the shelters.” He has five Pitbulls that he calls his own and all of them were rescued from the shelters: Shorty, Boo Boo, Rockie, Buddy, Mickey and Bandit all living under one roof in harmony.

The term ‘Pit Bull’ encompasses mainly three different breeds of dog: the American Pit Bull Terrier, the American Staffordshire Terrier, and the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. They make up the largest percentage of dogs in shelters across the United States and so far, they are the most euthanized breed. Studies estimate that up to 1 million Pitbulls are euthanized per year, or 2,800 per day!

Do Pibulls deserve this kind of treatment? It’s controversial: According to research compiled by Merritt Clifton, editor of Animals 24-7, Pitbulls are responsible for 68% of dog attacks and 52% of dog-related deaths since 1982.

However, Pitbulls’ rate incredibly high in temperament tests. Higher, even, than Golden Retrievers and many other breeds. According to the American Temperament Test Society, they are the second most tolerant dogs.
