Huge Newfoundland Dog Demands A Belly Rub

This video features Sebastian, a Newfoundland dog demanding a belly rub from his owner. When his owner stopped rubbing his stomach, he made a fuss like a big baby.

The breed is named after its place of origin, Newfoundland, Canada. The Newfoundland (aka. “Newfie”) shares the same place of origin as Labrador Retrievers. Just like Labradors, they were also bred to help the fishermen living in the area. They excel in water rescue because of their webbed feet and innate swimming abilities. Unlike most dogs which swim with the ‘doggie paddle’, Newfies – amazingly – move their limbs in a down and out motion, close to a breaststroke. They have huge lung capacity for swimming long distances and their thick, waterproof double coat protects them from chilly waters.

They are popular for their giant size and sweet nature. They very calm, extremely lovable and their main goal is to please their owners. Newfies can weigh up to 150 pounds which means they are bigger and larger than most kids. But still, they are considered to be one of the best breeds to have around children. They are known to be very loyal and protective of their human family.
