According to the uploader, the chick was found on the streets all alone so they decided to take it home until it can be brought to the animal shelter. When Gohan first met the chick, he became extremely curious but quickly became its best buddy and protector. They followed each other everywhere! Currently, the chick is at the shelter being helped.
The bond we see between the two animals is referred to as interspecies friendship. This is not a typical phenomenon but numerous cases are reported and documented among wild and domesticated animals. Reasons for interspecies friendships include a mutually beneficial exchange between the pair, the need for social bonding and a need for protection. Whatever the reason for this bond to form, the result is often adorable and this is no exception.
